On my last trip to the mall I discovered that there was a new Makeup Forever Store. It’s not a part of Sephora, it has it’s own place in the mall. I was so excited to go in and look around, the first thing that caught my attention is the sign that said “MAKE-UP CLASSES”, immediately I jotted myself down to take a class. I wake up today, and I get ready to go, in some pink pants and casual white tee, with no make-up on. I got there and was greeted by the sweetest girls, who were happy to thank me for being on time. As we started they matched me to my foundation, I got try out their latest foundation the “Face and Body”, which is set to be a best seller this summer since it is mostly water based and will be perfect for the beach. I loved the coverage of it, and it was very buildable. The biggest thing I came out of there knowing is how WRONG, I was putting on my blush. They let me know not to smile and put it on my cheekbone, rather include it right between my highlight and contour. The problem with putting it right on your cheekbone is that you’re not always smiling! I also learned when contouring to specifically put my bronzer on in one direction only, not to stroke it back and forth. Another quick tip I learned was that if I want a more dewy look to my make-up I should skip the setting powder after my foundation.
When it came to the eyes, they taught us how to do a thick liner with some color in the middle of it. I thought it looked so gorgeous on one of the makeup artist teaching the class. She had a purple color with a lighter purple in the center and it popped quite beautifully. The line we created was with a cream eyeshadow and an angled brush. I used an eyeshadow from one of their pallettes for the center of my lid. I went with blue and white, I love the finish outcome of it. I will definitely be taking some more of these classes I thought they were very helpful!
Here are some pictures of my finished look, topped off with a light pink lip. I’m hoping to find some drugstore alternatives to the products I used, and re-create it in a video! What do you guys think?
